Out of the Shadows indeed...
Some of you may already be familiar with Vivian Maier's story but I was not. Not until last night when I watched this BBC Imagine episode, "Who took Nanny's pictures." Wow.

What makes the story so compelling, in part, is that in life Miss Maier was known mostly by her work as a Nanny. But in death her other self, her shadow self -- the amazing and tenacious photographer that she was -- is now fully exposed. Out of the Shadows indeed. The fact that she died just about the same time she was 'discovered' just adds another fascinating element to the story. And, of course, all those thousands of photos and films (much of them still yet to be seen) discovered in the contents of those storage lockers.

I guess it's true, "there are eight million stories in the naked city..."
